Indonesian Train Crash Kills At Least 36

A deadly train crash in Petarukan, Central Java, Indonesia killing at least 36 people, October 2, 2010.

On Saturday October 2, 2010, a train crashed into another train in Petarukan, Indonesia.

Petarukan is a city on the northern coast of Central Java province.

This is a bad train accident.

At least 36  people were killed and 50 were injured, many of them are badly injured.

There were bodies still trapped in the damaged train.

The time of the crash was around 3 a.m. (0800 GMT; 9 p.m. EDT Friday).

A train from the capital, Jakarta, slammed into a train sitting idle near the platform, causing severe damage to both.

At about 4 a.m. another passenger train crashed in the town of Solo.

So far one person was reported killed in the train accident.

At the moment it was not clear what caused the accidents.

I’m very sad for the victims and their families of this disaster.
