Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin was born on 9th March 1934.
He was born in Klushino, Russia.
The name of his space ship is Vostok 1.
In Russia the person who went to space is called a cosmonaut.
He was a great man.
He died on 27th March 1968 in a plane crash.
Russian must be very proud of Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin.
