London was hit by horror attacks in three different areas, with at least two people were killed and many more were injured by a van attack and stabbings.

Witnesses told Express.co.uk that a white van had appeared to purposefully hit pedestrians on the London Bridge at 10.08pm.

Dozens of people were on the bridge at the time of the attack.

The Telegraph reported that witnesses said 20 people were run down by a van and pedestrians were attacked with knives at 10.08pm.

There were also multiple reports of rapid gunfire at the scene.

It was also reported that a police officer at the scene urged people to run from the bridge and that the London Bridge is closed at both ends.

The London Bridge incident was followed by another incident in Borough Market on the south bank of the River Thames where three men ran towards the market, stabbing people as they ran.

The Telegraph also reported that police entered bars and restaurants in the Southwark area around 11pm and told customers to get down on the floor amid reports that the incident was still ongoing.

People outdoors were told by yelling police officers to run from the area as the atmosphere turned to one of “hysteria”.

Guests staying at Premier Inn on Borough High Street were evacuated as the police cordon extended.

The third incident happened in Vauxhall, South London, after the two incidents in Central London.

Metropolitan police tweeted at 11:44pm tonight that officers were on the scene.

It was later declared that this incident has nothing to do with the first two incidents.

Police have advised people to keep away from the area while The Shard and the News Building are also on lock down.

The Met urged people in the three affected areas to run, hide and call the police.

Prime Minister Theresa May said, “Following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the terrible incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism.”

An Agusta 109 helicopter crashed into two cars just off Wandsworth Road near South Lambeth Road and exploded into flames after it smashed into a crane in central London on Wednesday morning at around 8am.

It was on a scheduled commercial flight from Surrey to Elstree, but was diverted to Battersea due to bad weather.

Two people were killed; the pilot and a person on the ground.

Burning wreckage and aviation fuel covered the road at the accident site and debris is scattered over three surrounding buildings.

Witnesses said the helicopter wheeled out of the sky after hitting the crane on St George Wharf Tower, in Vauxhall, in heavy fog.

Thirteen people were injured, with one reported to be in a critical condition.

London Fire Brigade said they had rescued a man from a burning car at the scene, although his condition is not known.
