A Boy Named Fred, A Poem By Ahmad Ali Karim

3 06 2014

I know a boy,
His name is Fred,
He loves green apples,
Honey, oats and bread.

Fred is always hungry,
He eats to fill his tummy,
And he loves to have lunch,
With his old granddaddy,

Fred collects coins,
He also collects stamps,
He received a new stamp,
With a picture of two lamps.

The beautiful Underwater Life special issue stamp series.

On March 21, 2012, Pos Malaysia issued a new set of special issue stamp series named Underwater Life.

I went to the General Post Office at Dayabumi Complex, Kuala Lumpur that morning to buy the stamps and the miniature sheets.

The first day cover with the miniature sheet.

The stamps are so beautiful.

The stamp artist used water colour to paint the pictures.

And I also got the artist’s signature 🙂

On March 8, 2012 Pos Malaysia launched the Malaysian Antarctic Research Programme/ Program Penyelidikan Antartika Malaysia special issue stamp series.

I already knew how to do some of the things that Uncle Ibrahim showed me but there are some that I don’t know.

I now know that we can make our own website easier by using Adobe Flash Professional.

I have lots of fun and Atuk Professor Hassan gave me the books that he wrote, ‘Ideas For Logo Design’, part 1 and part 2.

Atuk Professor Hassan explaining about one of the logos in his book.

That is great because the books give me ideas of how to make my companies’ logos

Uncle Professor Dato’ Raja Zahabuddin invited us for lunch at the Bouquet Garni and the food was really good.

We had a wonderful lunch at Bouquet Garni, thanks to Uncle Professor Dato' Raja Zahabuddin. From left is my father, Uncle Ibrahim, Uncle Professor Dato' Raja Zahabuddin, Atuk Professor Hassan and me.

On 10 Feb, 2011 I went to a stamp exhibition.

The exhibition was held at the Muzium Negara (National Museum), Kuala Lumpur.

There were lots of stamps at the exhibition.

The exhibition hall.

Over there, I saw the Penny Black and other stamps with picture of Penny Black.

Penny Black was the world’s first adhesive postage stamp.

A photo of the Penny Black.

Since the theme of the exhibition was ‘World of Flora and Fauna’ there were mostly flowers, plants and animals stamps at the exhibition.

The stamps were beautiful and colourful.

I love Penny Black the most because Penny Black was the first stamp in the world.

There were lots of stamps and and things that are related to the postal service at the exhibition.

There were also very old mailbox, old weighing scales, an old postman bicycle, old postmark machine and other things related to the postal service in the past.

And I also saw the longest stamp in Malaysia.

An old postman bicycle.

We spent almost 3 hours at the exhibition.

I enjoyed myself at the exhibition because I could see lots and lots of beautiful, old and new stamps from all over the world.

Kafah and I at the Muzium Negara.
