Yesterday a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit New Zealand.

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit Christchurch in September 2010.

So far, 75 people were killed and 300 are still missing.

Lots of people are still trapped inside the damaged buildings.

Some areas are unsafe because there are lots of unstable buildings.

Police warned that the 26-story Hotel Grand Chancellor may collapse.

If that happens, it may cause disaster to the unstable buildings around it.

On Thursday, more foreign rescuers will be helping to dig out the trapped victims.

I am very sad and sorry for the earthquake victims and their families.

I hope that there will be better news tomorrow.

The quake caused ice to break from New Zealand’s biggest glacier and formed huge icebergs in the Tasman Lake.

War in Bangkok? (photos)

The unrest in Bangkok between the Red Shirt and the government is getting worse.

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand.

At least 36 people died in the clashes so far.

A lot of people were injured.

The Red Shirt protesters set fire to tires, fired homemade rockets and threw gasoline bombs at soldiers.

Things like this is bad because it can start a war.

War is bad.

We can have a peaceful protest to fight for something important.

But we should not use violence to get what we want.

Setting fire also causes air pollution and global warming.

Parts of buildings were damaged and the rubble also caused more pollution.

This is a man-made disaster.

I hope they can find other ways to get what they want without destroying the Earth.

People need to learn that it is very important to save the Earth.

These open fire caused air pollution and global warming!

Haiti Was Hit By A Strong Aftershock

A 5.9 magnitude aftershock hit Haiti at 6.03 a.m. ET on Wednesday morning, about 35 miles (60 kilometers) west-southwest of Port-au-Prince.

ET means Eastern Time.

This is the strongest aftershock after the 7.0 earthquake on 12 January 2010.

Aftershocks are earthquakes that happen after the first earthquake.

People screamed and ran to the streets because they are scared that the buildings will fall on them.

It is very dangerous because the buildings are not strong after the 7.0 earthquake hit them.

The rubble from the damaged buildings can fall on people’s head.

The damaged buildings can also collapse and hurt more people.

Maybe more people are injured and more buildings are damaged and more rubble block the streets.
