Isaac came ashore late Tuesday as a Category 1 hurricane, with 80 mph winds near the mouth of the Mississippi River bringing along high winds, storm surges, and torrents of rain.

It drove a wall of water nearly 11 feet high inland.

By Wednesday mid afternoon, 19 hours after making landfall, Isaac had been downgraded to a tropical storm.

Anyway since Isaac moves very slowly, it is dumping more rain and together with the threat of storm surges it can cause more flooding in Louisiana.

Isaac that arrived exactly seven years after Hurricane Katrina did not make a direct hit on New Orleans.

It brings slashing rain and wind gusts up to 100 mph that buffeted New Orleans skyscrapers.

In Plaquemines Parish, the storm pushed water over an 18-mile levee and put so much pressure on it that authorities planned to intentionally make a hole in the floodwall to relieve the strain.

Dozens of people were stranded in the flooded coastal areas and had to be rescued.

Plaquemines Parish ordered a mandatory evacuation for the west bank of the Mississippi below Belle Chasse because of worries about a storm surge.

West of New Orleans, Tropical Storm Isaac pushed water from lakes Pontchartrain and Maurepas into parts of LaPlace that caused flooding in St. John the Baptist Parish and victims were evacuated.

China Hit By Typhoon Chanthu-Pictures

Typhoon Chanthu made a landfall on Guangdong province Thursday noon, July 22, 2010.

Typhoon is a natural disaster.

It brought strong winds up to 126 kilometers per hour and very heavy rain.

It made the bad flood in China even worse.

2 people were killed when the very strong wind knocked down a wall.

It then weaken to a tropical storm.

In Hong Kong the heavy rain caused a bad flood and killed 1 person.

This is the worst storm that hit Hong Kong in 30 years.

The storm will cause heavy rain as it continue its journey to other parts of China.

My Strawberry Plant

My strawberry plant‘s name is Strawy.

I first saw Strawy at a farmer’s market.

Then I asked my mother to buy Strawy for me because I love to eat strawberries.

We paid RM 7 for Strawy.

It has lots of fruits when we bought it and two of the fruits are already red and ripe.

The strawberries looked very delicious.

I water Strawy twice a day.

I brought Strawy to Kuala Terengganu and brought it back to Kuala Lumpur.

But now Strawy can’t go to Kuala Terengganu anymore because it is dying.

I think Strawy is dying because we took it to Kuala Terengganu.

It was too sunny in Kuala Terengganu .

In Kuala Terengganu

Strawy needs a shady place and just a little water.

It will die if we put it under the hot sun or in heavy rain.

I am very sad because I can’t take Strawy to Kuala Terengganu again.
