Bubur Lambuk Warisan Kampung Baru Kak Sham

WP_20140629_006Today is the first day of Ramadhan and in Malaysia, ‘bubur lambuk’ is one of the most popular food for iftar or breaking fast.

There are different types of ‘bubur lambuk’ in Malaysia, and in Kuala Lumpur the most popular bubur lambuk is ‘Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru’; which is my favourite.

Today I am going to have ‘Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru’ for iftar so we went to Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk stall in Kampung Baru to buy the ‘bubur lambuk’.

It was very, very hot over there and the sun was shining brightly over our heads.

I was already hungry at the time and I became hungrier as I looked at the bubur lambuk.

Aunty Sham’s ‘bubur lambuk’ is very, very tasty and the best that I’ve ever tasted.

Every year, during the month of Ramadhan, we’ll drive to Kampung Baru just to buy her tasty ‘bubur lambuk’.

The Wedding Of Dr. Ishak Mas’ud’s Son

On Sept 16, 2012 I went to the German Malaysian Institute to attend the wedding celebration of Uncle Dr. Ishak Mas’ud’s and Aunty Wadi’s son.

The groom’s name is Muhammad Hafeez and the bride’s name is Nurul Iffah.

Over there I met my pediatrician, Uncle Dr. Khairul, his wife and Uncle Raja Ahmad Aminullah.

Dr Khairul used to work at the Al-iSLAM Specialist Hospital (AISH) in Kampung Baru.

From left is me, my father, Kashah and Dr. Khairul (R) at the German Malaysian Institute.
I also met Uncle Raja Ahmad Aminullah at the wedding.

I only ate the sweet watermelon and grapes and drank the tasty orange juice because I was too full after eating the roast lamb at Uncle Datuk Paduka Prof.  Mohamad Abu Bakar’s open house and another plate of lamb, a bowl of cendol and ice-cream at ISMA’s open house.

We met a lot of AISH’s staffs at the wedding and we also met Aunty Sham.

At ISMA’s open house, I met Uncle Aminuddin Yahya,  Uncle Ustaz Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman, Uncle Dr. Yusri Mohammad and a lot of other NGOs leaders and members.

Uncle Aminuddin Yahya is also the president of PEMBELA.

Aunty Sham’s Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru Returns!!!

On Sunday, I went to Kampung Baru to check if Aunty Sham sells her tasty Bubur Lambuk.

And she did!

Please do not miss it. Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk stall is here!

Aunty Sham’s Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru is cooked using the original recipe like the famous Bubur Lambuk from the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.

Here is where her stall is located. Named Bubur Lambuk Warisan Kak Sham, her stall is the second on the left (with a red canopy) from the Jalan Raja Abdullah-Jalan Raja Alang traffic lights; in front of the Al-Islam Specialist Hospital and opposite the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.

Please click the above image to get a clearer picture of the location of Aunty Sham’s stall.

Aunty Sham’s Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru is very, very, very delicious and the best in Kampung Baru.

I’m looking at the tasty, steaming bubur lambuk in a huge pot.

Cooking Bubur Lambuk in those huge pots is a very, very, very hard work.

We need to always stir the Bubur Lambuk so that it won’t get burnt at the bottom part of the pot.

One needs to be very patient to cook the Bubur Lambuk because it gets really hot especially during the hot day and one can feel very thirsty.

The delicious aromas of the spices can make you very hungry too 🙂

And it takes a very long time for a huge pot of delicious Bubur Lambuk to be cooked.

Normally Aunty Sham’s first huge pot of Bubur Lambuk is ready by 12 noon.

Cooked and packed bubur lambuk.

There are lots and lots of Bubur Lambuk stalls in Kampung Baru during Ramadhan.

And it will be sad to drive all the way to Kampung Baru for a delicious Bubur Lambuk but taking home those that are not tasty at all for iftar.

Ramadhan won’t feel the same without Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk.

And a very big thank you to Aunty Sham, for cooking my favourite Ramadhan food for Iftar

To get to Aunty Sham’s stall, please look for the banner, ‘Bubur Lambuk Warisan Kak Sham’, her stall is the second on the left (with a red canopy) from the Jalan Raja Abdullah-Jalan Raja Alang traffic lights; in front of the Al-Islam Specialist Hospital and opposite the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.

Please look for the right banner because there are sellers who said that their Bubur Lambuk are the same as Bubur Lambuk Kak Sham.
