NaPoWriMo Poem#29: The Golden Gate Bridge

29 04 2015

Golden Gate Bridge,
So red, so beautiful,
To cross the bridge,
It’s wonderful!

A hundred thousand cars,
Cross each day,
But it remains beautiful,
Until today.

The iconic bridge,
Glimmering in the sun,
To cross it again,
Will be so much fun!

Robert Wills who snapped photos of the total collapse of the famous arch at Tennessee Beach called it “a spectacular event”.

The collapse of the arch lasted in less than 10 seconds.

Here's a look at the sequence of the slide of spectacular event.

I think that it is indeed a very spectacular event.

Tourists look at the Perito Moreno glacier after the rupture of a massive ice wall near the city of El Calafate in the Patagonian province of Santa Cruz, southern Argentina, March 4, 2012. The glacier, a massive tongue of ice in the Santa Cruz province that covers 250 square kilometres (97 square miles), advances yearly into a lake, known as Lago Argentino. As Perito Moreno moves forward, it cuts off a river feeding the lake. Water builds up pressure and slowly undermines the ice, forming a tunnel until ice comes tumbling down. The phenomenon repeats itself at irregular intervals, with the last major ice falls occurring in 2008. REUTERS/Andres Arce (ARGENTINA - Tags: ENVIRONMENT TRAVEL)

The Golden Gate Bridge was opened to the public on May 27, 1937.

It was constructed from January 1933 to May 1937.

The bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the Golden Gate.

Golden Gate is the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean.

The Golden Gate Bridge links the city of San Francisco to Marin County, California.

At 4,200 ft (1,280.2 m), it was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1964.

I have already went across the bridge when we visited San Francisco.

After that I visited the Fisherman’s Wharf to eat clam chowder 🙂
