It is delicious as always and eating Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk is very nostalgic because it is what I have been waiting for every Ramadhan ever since I can remember.

So, be sure that you are buying the real ‘Bubur Lambuk Kak Sham’ for the best bubur lambuk in Kampung Baru.

Bubur Lambuk Warisan Kampung Baru Kak Sham

WP_20140629_006Today is the first day of Ramadhan and in Malaysia, ‘bubur lambuk’ is one of the most popular food for iftar or breaking fast.

There are different types of ‘bubur lambuk’ in Malaysia, and in Kuala Lumpur the most popular bubur lambuk is ‘Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru’; which is my favourite.

Today I am going to have ‘Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru’ for iftar so we went to Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk stall in Kampung Baru to buy the ‘bubur lambuk’.

It was very, very hot over there and the sun was shining brightly over our heads.

I was already hungry at the time and I became hungrier as I looked at the bubur lambuk.

Aunty Sham’s ‘bubur lambuk’ is very, very tasty and the best that I’ve ever tasted.

Every year, during the month of Ramadhan, we’ll drive to Kampung Baru just to buy her tasty ‘bubur lambuk’.

Bubur Lambuk Kak Sham: The Tastiest Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru

Now we are in the holy month of Ramadhan.

This pot of bubur lambuk is almost ready.

So, Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk Kampung Baru is back!

Well, lots of people will never understand why the porridge is so popular that people will be queuing in a very, very long line at Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru daily during Ramadhan for the free porridge when other mosques and some hotels are also giving away free bubur lambu;, until they had tasted the tasty porridge that is cooked using the original recipe.

If you do not want to queue, try the ones from Aunty Sham’s stall as Aunty Sham uses the same recipe as she used to cook the porridge at the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru for years.

Since my father was very busy during the week days, this year I only got to eat Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk on Saturday July 13, 2013 which was the fourth day of fasting.

And it was very, very tasty.

Aunty Sham’s Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru Returns!!!

On Sunday, I went to Kampung Baru to check if Aunty Sham sells her tasty Bubur Lambuk.

And she did!

Aunty Sham’s Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru is cooked using the original recipe like the famous Bubur Lambuk from the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.

Here is where her stall is located. Named Bubur Lambuk Warisan Kak Sham, her stall is the second on the left (with a red canopy) from the Jalan Raja Abdullah-Jalan Raja Alang traffic lights; in front of the Al-Islam Specialist Hospital and opposite the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru.

Aunty Sham’s Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru is very, very, very delicious and the best in Kampung Baru.

I’m looking at the tasty, steaming bubur lambuk in a huge pot.

Cooking Bubur Lambuk in those huge pots is a very, very, very hard work.

We need to always stir the Bubur Lambuk so that it won’t get burnt at the bottom part of the pot.

One needs to be very patient to cook the Bubur Lambuk because it gets really hot especially during the hot day and one can feel very thirsty.

The delicious aromas of the spices can make you very hungry too 🙂

And it takes a very long time for a huge pot of delicious Bubur Lambuk to be cooked.

Normally Aunty Sham’s first huge pot of Bubur Lambuk is ready by 12 noon.

There are lots and lots of Bubur Lambuk stalls in Kampung Baru during Ramadhan.

And it will be sad to drive all the way to Kampung Baru for a delicious Bubur Lambuk but taking home those that are not tasty at all for iftar.

Ramadhan won’t feel the same without Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk.

Bubur lambuk is the most popular food for iftar during Ramadhan days in Malaysia.(Please click here for the best bubur lambuk in Kampung Baru.)

These are the ingredients for Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru:

  1. rice

  2. spices

  3. onion

  4. beef

  5. lots of water, some salt and black pepper

  6. celery, green onion and fried shallots

How to cook bubur lambuk:

First we fry sliced onions and the spices.

Next we add the water and the minced beef.

Add the rice into the hot soup and keep stirring until done.

Aunty Sham let me try stirring the bubur lambuk. It is hard work and it is very, very hot.

We have to stir and stir and stir.

The bubur lambuk is almost cooked.

When the porridge is cooked, put in the celery, green onion and fried shallot.

Slices of celery, green onion and fried shallots.

Stir again and you’re done.

Now you can eat the delicious Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru :mrgreen:

Yesterday my family and I went to Kampung Baru to buy Aunty Sham’s bubur lambuk(please click here) for iftar.

Aunty Sham’s stall is in the red square.

I wanted to buy some bubur lambuk but Aunty Sham gave them free and I don’t need to pay anything.

Bubur lambuk is a type porridge.

This is how we cook bubur lambuk:

  1. Rice

  2. spices

  3. beef

  4. some vegetable

  5. cook them until it is cooked.

When we get something free, we don’t waste our money.
