A Map of Trengganu

Copies of AMoT. Please place your order now.

‘A Map of Trengganu’ (AMoT) is the latest book written by Uncle Awang Goneng.

It is a sequel to the best seller, ‘Growing Up in Trengganu’ (GUiT).

The book is about the old days in Terengganu, the beautiful town and the people living there long before I was born.

It also talks about the old and historical buildings that had been demolished like the the mosque near my mother’s house and the rows of shop houses in Kedai Payang.

GUiT was launched at Alam Akademik or Kedai Pok Loh Yunang in Kuala Terengganu.

Anyway the building had been demolished.

My father picked up the books from the distributor this morning and had delivered some to the costumers who had placed their order.

Orders had came in even before the book reached KL.

There was an order from New York, USA too.

I do not really understand the book as it has lots of hard words but my big sister is so excited about it and cannot stop reading it.

I am reading AMoT but there are too many hard words for me...

She was smiling and laughing by herself while reading 🙂

I want to keep one copy and wait until I grow up a bit older to enjoy it as my big sister and my parents.

May be Uncle Awang Goneng should write a simpler edition with  larger font for small kids like me

This book had just came in from Singapore and may not reach the bookstores in KL yet 🙂

Just now I sold a book to Uncle Wan Yusuf after the Friday prayer.

During the ‘Khalifah Dinner And Talk’, I helped to distrubute flyers.

I hope that I can help my father to sell a lot more copies of AMoT and that AMoT will be another best seller like GUiT 🙂

So, please >>>Click Here<<< for information on how to order ‘A Map of Trengganu’

I wish that one day I can write a book too, like Uncle Hulaimi.

This book is fun and very interesting, so please place your order now

A Map of Trengganu by Awang Goneng.

The sequel to Malaysian bestseller Growing Up in Trenaggnu looks at the terrain of Trengganu, the landmarks that are still standing and those that have fallen to rubble, the winds that bring chill and change to the inhabitants of his coastal town, and people who walked the streets and breathed the air that is laced with dried shrimps, the aroma of röjök, and salt coming in with the spray from the South China Sea.

UNESCO,Please Save A Heritage Historical Building

Please help me to get this message to UNESCO or United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.

I hope that UNESCO and everybody who can help me, please  save a historical building in Jalan Bandar, Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia because the government of Terengganu is going to demolish the beautiful, historical building very soon.

The government must not demolish the building because:

  1. The heritage building is more than 100 years old. It is older than my grandmother and my great grandfather.

  2. Kids cannot see the historical building if it is not there anymore. Kids should see historical buildings because they can learn history.

  3. The building is still strong and beautiful. The quality of the building is very good because it can stand for more than 1oo years.

  4. If we demolish the historical building, the historical building is gone.

  5. We waste bricks and money when we demolish the beautiful and strong building.

  6. There will be rubbish everywhere and the drain can be blocked by rubbish. It will cause a flood. A flood is a disaster.

  7. Demolishing a building also cause air pollution.

My grandmother’s bookshop , Alam Akademik is in the building.

Alam Akademik is more than 100 years old.

I love the bookshop because it is so beautiful and there are lots of books.

I think the government should build new buildings on empty lands and take care of the historical building.

We can paint the building to make it more beautiful and shinny.

Please save this historical building.

A Flood In Kuala Terengganu

There was a flood in Kuala Terengganu.

My grandmother’s shop was flooded.

It is a book shop.

The name of the book shop is Alam Akademik.

The shop is near the Pasar Besar Kedai Payang or the Kedai Payang Market.

I think the books were wet and soaked.

Other shops were flooded too.

The Kedai Payang Market was flooded too.

I think the fruits floated away and away to other places in the  water.

My grandmother’s house in Bukit Besar was flooded too.

I think the garden must be full of water and the slippers floated away and away to other houses.

But there is no photo of the flood in the shop or in my grandmother’s house because we are not in Kuala Terengganu to take the pictures.
