British Airways Cancels All Flights From Heathrow and Gatwick

28 05 2017

The British Airways has suffered a major global IT system failure which cancelled all its flights out of London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports on Saturday.

The incident happened before 6PM (UTC+1), and some parts of British Airways’ website and check-in features were unavailable too.

According to the British Airways chief, Alex Cruz in an apology video, the failure was likely caused by a “power supply issue”, and that they have not found any evidence of a server attack.

Even the contact center server was affected and customers were advised to go to the British Airways twitter and website, Heathrow and Gatwick airport websites instead for any information.

Yahoo! News reported that this is the sixth major crash for its recently installed system in the space of roughly a year.

A fire broke out at the departure hall of Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 2 late evening, local time today.

The whole terminal was evacuated due to the fire.

According to Changi Airport officials, the fire alarm was activated at about 5.40pm due to “smoke coming through the air vents”

Local news agency, The Straits Times reported that 3 people were taken to the hospital due to ‘smoke inhalation’.

At 6.45 PM, Changi Airport officials said that the situation was under control and the cause of the fire has been identified.

The flights at Terminal 2 were diverted to Terminal 3.

Video: Flying Chairs In Rawang Storm Havoc

3 05 2017

Yesterday at about 2 p.m. as we drove to a program in Melaka from Serdang, we were caught in a very heavy rain along the highway.

The rain was especially heavy as we passed along the highway around the Universiti Putra Malaysia towards the Country Heights in Kajang.

And this morning, I saw the video below of a very terrible storm which hit the Rawang Golf Club.

Fortunately, we did not face such obstacle and there was no fallen trees along the Lebuhraya Utara-Selatan as we drove back from Melaka last night.

Fake: Minaret Dome Miraculously Flies in Nepal

12 04 2017

“ALLAHU AKBAR! Yes it’s miracle of “ALLAH”. Happend in Nepal. Govt didnt allowed the crane for Mosque minar and said that `go and ask your ALLAH to help you.  Allah helps muslim by putting gunbad on menar without any support, since, non muslims dont allow muslims to use crane to lift gunbad, so the imam of mosque saw our beloved prophet pbuh in dream who told him just cover the gunbad with white bed sheet and then see.”

Those were the words which spread through various social medias, sent with the video implying that the dome of a mosque’s minaret was miraculously lifted to its minaret by itself with the help from Allah.

I received this message through WhatsApp where the message was translated to the Malay language.

Feeling curious and guessing that this is just a hoax, I looked up for articles or any sort of writings regarding this matter to find out what really happened.

I found a blog post saying that this is a hoax, complete with evidences showing that the dome was actually lifted using pulleys, similar to how cable cars function.

Even though the cables were almost invisible because the video was recorded a long time ago using a low quality camera; it can still be seen, but for those who are easily tricked and do not investigate after receiving these kind of messages, tend to just believe the fake message and share it through the internet.

In fact, at the end of the video we can clearly see a few Indonesian flags, thus showing that this happened in Indonesia and not in Nepal as claimed.

The fake story came in at least 6 different versions, ranging from the Imam being told to cover the dome in his dream, to 3000 Imams gathering in the mosque to perform Dhikirullah.

This is a good example of how easy we can be fooled by fake stories, and how ‘perception terrorism’ can easily ‘terrorised’ our mind into believing things that are not true.

‘Perception terrorism’ can cause serious problems including racial riots and can even cause civil wars if we are not careful.

So, always remember to investigate before forwarding or sharing any news, and please restrain from forwarding or sharing any news right after receiving them, especially sensational news.

Siti Kasim Finally Supports Act 355?

6 04 2017

Liberal lawyer and activist, Siti Zabedah Kasim seems to be very mad, in fact it looks like she is steaming, raging mad after being advised by the Mufti of Perak, Tan Sri Harussani to not touch on matters concerning tauhid.

On her Facebook page, claiming that the Mufti of Perak accused her of “being an apostate”, she wrote that the Mufti is “punishable by 80 kali sebat according to the Quran” for making “a very big fitnah to accuse woman wrongly”; and she quoted the 4th verse of the Surah An-Noor to prove her point.

I am appalled by her arrogant attitude and her out of context self-interpretation of the holy Quran to suit her needs.

Fortunately, she is not a Syariah lawyer; as it will cause a deafening uproar in the courtroom if she insists that her out of context self-interpretation of the Quran is valid!

Anyway, it puzzles me when she talks about the punishment from the Quran; after all, isn’t she is the one who vocally complains about the proposed amendment of Act 355?

As I understand from her ridiculous stunts at numerous public forums, she is against the implementation of “80 kali sebat” and wants the maximum limit for whipping stays at only six strokes.

May be her anger made her confused…

As I wrote in my previous post, ‘Siti Kasim: Drowned by Freedom of Speech it is best for her to stand up tall and clarify the matter with JAKIM to solve the problem.

I also asked, “Or is she going to deny what she had said in the video and says something weird like, the video was edited by somebody to defame her?”

And I was right because on her Facebook page she told the Mufti to listen to her original interview and “not to get confused by the cut paste fitnah version by menara.my, fundamentalist website that is out to attack what the Islamofascists term as liberals”.

Has she changed her mind regarding the proposed amendment of Act 355 so that the people who accused her can be punished as according to the Quran?

Siti Bedah must make up her mind!

Siti Kasim: Drowned by Freedom of Speech

3 04 2017

It seems like liberal lawyer, Siti Zabedah Kasim who is usually cool and cheerful is getting really angry after she found out that she would be summoned by the religious authority “to clarify her reported remarks on God’s existence”.

She wrote in her Facebook that,”I will have no hesitation to take the full force of law against anyone or anybody who try to bully or defame me” and that “an idiot blogger” created a story about her that only “mentally challenged people will actually believe rubbish like that”.

She told Malay Mail Online that she received death threats after an article was published by the news portal Menara.my. Going to the extent of name calling, the portal was described as a “fundamentalist Malay-language portal”.

“She told Malay Mail Online when contacted on March 22 that the decapitation threats were made after a fundamentalist Malay-language portal, Menara.my, published an article titled “Melalui getaran, kita menghasilkan Tuhan — Siti Kasim” (Through vibrations, we create God — Siti Kasim) that she said had “manipulated” her interview with Chinese-language portal pocketimes.my”

~ Malay Mail Online.

The out spoken lawyer who is very popular for her liberal ideas and weird interpretations of Islam angered the Muslims with her crazy ideas and Islam bashing statements that she claims to be the true interpretations of Islam.

As a lawyer and activist who fights for the rights of the people, she must also fight for the rights of the Muslims to practise Islam as the religion of the Federaton according to the Federal Constitution.

Zabedah must stop applying double standards in her actions, and denying the rights of the others, as she did over the issue of the proposed amendment of Act 355.

She complains of her anger over what was written by the “idiot blogger” when her words had angered millions of Muslims almost daily.

As a person of integrity, she should stand up tall and explain what she meant by her statements. instead of putting the burden of proof on others over what she had said in the video.

It is not good enough to only accuse others of twisting the issue because that is a lame excuse.

In fact, Zabedah should voluntarily meet JAKIM and share her ideas about Islam, who knows JAKIM can learn new things from her.

It will be great if she can explain about what she had said in the video and also about her version of Islam.

Or is she going to deny what she had said in the video and says something weird like, the video was edited by somebody to defame her?

Constitutionally Illiterate!

23 03 2017

“We cannot accept Shariah law, for Malaysia already has a supreme law, which is the Federal Constitution. Article 4 of the Constitution declares it simply: ‘This Constitution is the supreme law of the Federation’,” Baru said as reported by Borneo Post Online with the tittle, “Baru concurs with Abg Jo on concerns over proposed amendment to Act 355”.

Constitutionally illiterate! This senseless statement makes me wonder if the PKR leader knows what he is trying to say. In fighting against a law that has nothing to do with him as a non-Muslim, the PKR man said, “Hadi Awang and Umno may say this is Syariah and not hudud, but as far as I understand it, hudud is part of the Syariah and the proponents had said this bill was to pave way for hudud punishments in Kelantan. This attempt at RUU355 is but a political contest between Umno and PAS to champion the implementation of Syariah Law in Malaysia.”

Yes, Article 4 of the Constitution declares that the Federal Constitution is the supreme law of the Federation, therefore the Shariah Court system is constitutional because Article 121(1A) confers the Syariah Courts systems as part of the Malaysian legal systems. Federal Constitution as the Supreme law of the land must not be misinterpreted and must be read as a whole.

In the judgement of the Federal Court case, Loh Kooi Choon v The Government of Malaysia [1977] 2 MLJ 187, the then Federal Court Judge, DYMM Almarhum Sultan Azlan Shah stated that, “Constitution as the supreme law, unchangeable by ordinary means, is distinct from ordinary law and as such cannot be inconsistent with itself”. Hence, it is wrong for Baru Bian to cherry-pick what he likes or bypassing other Articles in order to make his own interpretation to suit his argument and agendas.

If Baru Bian respects the Article 4, he must respect the fact that the Article 3(1) that says, “Islam is the religion of the Federation” for it is placed before the Article 4, hence stating the importance of Article 3. In the Court of Appeal’s judgement of the case, Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur v. Menteri Dalam Negeri and Kerajaan Malaysia, the then Federal Court Judge, Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali explained that , “The Article places the religion of Islam at par with the other basic structures of the Constitution, as it is the 3 rd in the order of precedence of the Articles that were within the confines of Part I of the Constitution”. So by denying the acceptance of the Shariah laws, Baru Bian is literally against the Article 3(1) and therefore he is also against Supreme Law of the Federation.

If Baru Bian reads the Federal Constitution, he’ll understand that as the supreme law of the land, the Constitution defines the principles of our country, the sovereignty of Islam as the religion of the country, the sovereignty of the Rulers, the rights of the people, judicial system and other important laws but the Federal Constitution does not describe punishments and offences. It is the judiciary that interprets and applies the law in the name of our country through Act, Ordinance, Enactment and others. And there is no unconstitutional elements in the proposed amendment of the Act 355 because the Act 355 is an existing law, the proposed amendment is only to increase the Syariah punishments which are currently too low and not to introduce new sets of laws or seeks to widen the scope of its current jurisdiction.

Furthermore has Baru Bian forgotten or unaware of Article 11(3)(a) which says every religious group has the right to manage its own religious affairs? After all, why must the non-Muslims try so hard to deny the constitutional rights of the Muslims to manage our own religious affairs as granted by Article 11(3) of our Federal Constitution?

This is not a Hudud Bill and it is impossible for the amendment of Act 355 to enable the implementation of Kelantan’s Syariah Criminal Code II (1993) Enactment 2015 because it is not within the power of the Syariah Courts to implement capital punishment nor the jurisdiction over offences punishable under the Penal Code.

So, please stop debasing the Federal Constitution and as a leader, please at least learn to respect and uphold our supreme law.
