10 Longest Bridges in the World

30 01 2018

[Yahoo! News}- With only 22 miles between the UK and France, Boris Johnson reportedly thinks it’s ‘crazy’ that the Channel Tunnel is the only connecting bridge.

Although it’s faced some mocking and controversy, a bridge connecting the two nations could, technically, exist.

Bridge designer and former president of the Institution of Structural Engineers Ian Firth said it was ‘absolutely possible’.

And while a 22 mile bridge might seem longer than your average water crossing, it’s by no means the longest bridge to ever exist.

These are the 10 longest bridges around the world.

Johor (3): Muar

Among the districts in Johor, Muar is the district that I visited most frequently.

The bandar Muar or Muar town which was given the title of Bandar Maharani (translated as the Town of Empress) by the Sultan Sir Abu Bakar of Johor in 1887, is the Bandar DiRaja Johor or the Royal Town of Johor.

Muar is known for many unique and delicious foods, among our favourites are the Mee Bandung Udang Galah, Satay Muar and the cucur udang.

There is a pair of beautiful sky-blue coloured twin mosques, that are facing each other on both sides of the Sungai Muar or Muar River.

The older mosque, the stunning Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim in Bandar Maharani was officially opened in 1930 while it’s twin, the Masjid Sultan Ismail in Tanjung Agas was opened in 2002.

Both mosques are identical in their designs; which is why they are known as the twin mosques of Muar.

At nighttime the view of Masjid Sultan Ismail seen from the river bank by the Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim is very beautiful, as the colourful lights from the Masjid Sultan Ismail igniting in the dark scenery.

Photos: Buildings Shaped Like Animals

23 07 2013
This ingenious preschool is so adorable that it makes any work seem like play. Artist Tomi Ungerer and architect Ayla Suzan Yöndel designed it so that children enter through the cat’s mouth, where the classrooms and cafeteria are located, and exit into the backyard via a slippery dip for a tail.

There are lots of interesting and cool buildings around the world but today I’m going to share photos of some animal shaped buildings.

This is called zoomorphic architecture.

I like the cat shaped kindergarten building (above photo) the most, it is so cute and during an emergency we could slide down the tail of the cat to exit the building.

Below are buildings in shapes of Giant Koala, Lucy The Elephant, Turtle in a Storm trooper outfit and lot’s more.
