Anwar Ibrahim’s title as Dato’ Seri was revoked by the Sultan Of Selangor this morning.
Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj ibn Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj made the statement in his palace today.
The reason was because Anwar Ibrahim had repeatedly questioned the integrity, the rights and power of the Sultan and the Royal Institution in resolving the Selangor MB crisis a few months ago as well as the issues regarding Islam.
The Sultan of Selangor is also Selangor’s head of the religion of Islam; so it is the Sultan’s duty to protect Islam; and the Sultan has the rights to do so according the Federal Constitution of Malaysia.
