Around 5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time on Tuesday, people across two continents tried their best to witness and take photos of the first total Lunar Eclipse in 2014.
This is the first total Lunar Eclipse since December 10, 2011 and the first in the north hemisphere since December 21, 2010.
Cameramen took their chances to take beautiful photos of the ‘blood moon’.

16 04 2014
Matthew Douglas de Grood, of Calgary, is shown in this image from a Calgary 10k race in 2013. Calgary police said that a son of a police officer stabbed five students of the University of Calgary to death early Tuesday.
This is the worst mass murder in Calgary and it happened less than a week after a mass stabbing in Pittsburgh.
The victims were Joshua Hunter, Kaitlin Perras, Jordan Segura, Lawerence Hong and Zackariah Rathwell.
The incident happened during a party celebrating the students’ last day in classes in the northwest residential neighbourhood of Brentwood.
The suspect, 22-year-old Matthew Douglas de Grood is a son of a veteran Calgary police officer, Insp. Doug de Grood.
The suspect was arrested after he was tracked down and bitten by a police dog and his parents was heart-broken when they heard the news.
Late Tuesday, police said they charged Matthew Douglas de Grood with five counts of first-degree murder.
On April 9, 2014, 22 people were injured in a mass stabbing at the Franklin Regional High School, Pennsylvania.

16 04 2014This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Great War which cost the lives of millions of soldiers and civilians and plunged the world into darkness.
Now there are no veterans left alive to share the story of the First World War, but these haunting images bring to life the reality of the world-wide conflict.
Photographer Peter Macdiarmid visited key locations of the war in Europe and overlaid his pictures with archive images. (Yahoo News)
