On Saturday, December 14, 2013, Malaysia’s women hockey team defeated Cambodia in a second preliminary 27th SEA Games Myanmar 2013 match with 36 goals to zero at the Thein Phyu Stadium in Yangon.
This is the new world record, beating Argentina’s record of 26 goals to zero when defeating Peru in the South American Women Hockey Championships in Santiago, Chile on March 23, 2003.
The Malaysian squad scored a goal at an average of two minutes, with 18 goals in the first half and another 18 goals in the second half in the 70-minute match.
The best scorer of the game, Noor Hasliza Md Ali scored 6 goals during the match and 29 other goals were contributed by 12 other players and a Cambodian player who made an own goal.
