They walked back home and saw Safora sitting on a bench, talking with Mic near their houses. Pete and Reen told Safora and Mic all about what had happened. They were about to go home when Pete remembered something that he wanted to tell his friends earlier.
“My father says that there is a fair near here and he is going to take us there tomorrow,” said Pete. “You guys want to follow me and Safora to the fair?”
“Of course,” said Reen. “It will be lovely to have some fun after working hard to solve this mystery.”
So the next day they all gathered at Pete’s house. They were so excited about going to the fair and could not wait to be there.
“Everyone’s here?” asked Pete’s father.
“Yes!” said everyone all at once.
“Then lets go!” said Pete’s father as he walked towards the car followed by the children. Mic sat in the front passenger seat while Pete, Reen and Safora sat in the back seats. The car moved smoothly along the road towards the fair site.
Then they saw a big red balloon with the words, “COUNTRY FAIR! Open For A Week (May 5, 2013 – May 12, 2013)” printed in black. Pete’s father parked his car and smiled at the children.
“We are here now. Are you all ready for some fun at the fair?” he asked.
“Yes, sir!” said the children excitedly.
“Then lets get moving,” said Pete’s father as he got out of the car.
There were lots of people at the fair. Pete wanted to play ‘Hit The Bunny’. Mic joined him while Safora and Reen went to the ice cream stall to buy some lemon ice cream for all of them. Pete’s father sat on a bench reading a sports newspaper while waiting for the children.
Pete won the game and excitedly showed them his prize. Then they sat under a big tree and ate their ice creams.
Mic said, “Lets have a race, the first person who finish the ice cream will be the winner. As Pete was about to finish his ice cream, something caught his eyes. He stopped eating and looked up in front of him in disbelief.
“Ha ha!” shouted Mic excitedly as he ate the last of his ice cream. I win for the first time!”
“By the way, what made you stop eating, Pete?” asked Reen.
“The man!” whispered Pete. “Look over there, can you see him? Lets follow him.”
So both of them went after the man. Mic and Safora were stunned for they cannot understand what was happening. Pete and Reen followed the man until he’s out of sight.
