They rushed to the woods to investigate. As they were about to reached the woods, they saw a man walking behind a big tree. The man saw them and he disappeared among the trees and the kids lost him. Luckily, Pete managed to take a picture of the man before he ran away. They walked further into the woods, hoping to get some clues. But there was no clue at all and they did not see anybody else.

Pete said, “Reen and I are going to stay over here. We’ll stay on guard and try to get another photo of the man as a clue if he comes back. Mic and Safora, you’ll both go to the police station and tell the officer what had happened. Take this photo and give it to the officer,” said Pete giving Mic the photo of the man they saw walking behind the big tree.

So they went separate ways, Pete and Reen hid under some thick bushes while Mic and Safora ran to the police station. After a while, the man came back. He tripped by one of Reen’s clever traps and fell down to the ground. Pete could see the design of his shoe sole and immediately he drew it in his notebook. He also took another picture of him.

Anyway looking at the man’s right hand, he found out that the man had no pointy right thumb. Suddenly the man spoke to someone. Then Pete and Reen heard a nice and soft voice and in came two more men, one looked kind of European and the other one looked smaller in size. They took out their chain saw and started to cut the big tree in front of them.

Pete was shocked, for in front of him was the German friend of his together with the small, slim and dark skinned man with white hair who they met earlier. So, it was Frederick and the other man who cut down the trees! Pete was puzzled, but what about the hand prints with pointed thumb that they saw? Frederick and the other man did not have pointed thumb. Carefully, Pete and Reen walked out from the woods. Nobody heard or saw them because of the loud clattering noise and the men were too busy cutting down the trees.

“Reen,” said Pete in a low voice as they walked away from the woods. “So, it was a team of three men working together. It was Frederick,  the small, slim and dark skinned man with white hair who we met earlier and the man that we’ve just saw. The design of his shoe sole matches the one that we saw on the first day we came to the woods to investigate this case. Thanks to your clever trap, Reen. So, now we know who had cut down the trees. Come on, we should go to the police station now, It’s getting late and … look!” said Pete excitedly. ” The police officer is already here together with Mic and Safora. Let’s show the new pictures to the police!”

Newport Beach Fashion Island Mall’s Shooting

A day after the Sandy Hook Elementary School’s mass shooting, another shooting occurred in Newport Beach, Southern California.

Fortunately nobody was reported hurt or killed.

The suspect’s name is Marcos Gurrola, 42 who shot 50 times to the air and on the ground in a crowded parking lot of the open-air Fashion Island mall.

Police said that he paused several times to reload his gun and he gave up when the police came to arrest him.

People were screaming and ran to save themselves.

Some of the stores in the area closed the doors with shoppers in while the police investigate.

It is very scary when this incident happened right after the Friday shooting in Connecticut.

What is happening to the United States of America?

Is the U.S.A. still a safe place as it used to be?

In Palestine, Afghanistan and Syria innocent children and teachers were killed in schools because of the wars.

A medical examiner, Dr. H. Wayne Carver said at a news conference Saturday the deaths are classified as homicides; saying that he believes “everybody was hit more than once.”

Why must this happened?

Now, the United States of America seems to be facing a very big problem – mass shooting.

It happened everywhere in public places, cinema, malls, schools and lots of other places that should be safe from this kind of disaster.

I am very sad especially because I am also a kid and I know that there is nothing much that kids could do to protect ourselves in such situations.

I wonder why that happens again and again.

Maybe the freedom of owning guns in America, allowed some people to use the guns for killing other people.

But why must they killed other people, the people who they didn’t even know?

And is it the right thing to let people own guns freely?

Owning guns means that they can use them any time and any where; even for mass shootings.

May be the problems started because there is too much freedom and human rights.

May be some people might think that it is their rights to do what ever they want to do with their guns; including mass killing.

Is all this fair for children like me?

I don’t think so.

How about our rights as children, should kids carry guns too to protect ourselves like adults?

I guess America has too much freedom when too much freedom is not always good.

Americans are very proud of their freedom and liberty.

“My country ‘tis of thee,

Sweet land of liberty…”

“…From every mountain side,

Let the freedom ring.”

So people are always fighting for their rights and freedom in everything without thinking about other people’s rights.

They may become selfish and had forgotten about good values especially of respecting others.

So, too much freedom is not always good.

And to the Malaysians who support the oppositions parties especially PKR fighting for total freedom, and look at the United States as an ideal example, please think about all these.

If they follow United States of America in fighting for freedom and human rights, this is what that will happen to Malaysia later on.

Total freedom seems to be a nice idea, but is it really good for all of us, our communities and our country?

I am very sad and sorry for all the victims’ families and friends.

Good Morning America - Connecticut Shooter Adam Lanza: 'Obviously Not Well' (ABC News)
Good Morning America – Connecticut Shooter Adam Lanza: ‘Obviously Not Well’ (ABC News)

On December 14, 2012, there was another mass shooting in the United States of America.

This disaster happened just  three days after masked gunman Jacob Roberts opened fire in a busy Oregon mall, killing two before turning the gun on himself.

Twenty children and six adult died in the incident at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Eighteen children died in the school while another two students died later in a hospital.

The shooter was identified as a 20 years old man named Adam Lanza.

He first killed his mother, Nancy Lanza (who was a teacher teaching in the school) at their house before he drove to Sandy Hook Elementary.

He left his house armed with at least two semi automatic handguns, a Glock and a Sig Sauer, and a semi automatic rifle and wearing a bullet proof vest

After the incident happen, all the schools in the state were lock down.

It is the second worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

The worst was the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007 when 32 were killed before the shooter turned the gun on himself.

I wonder why there are too much mass shooting in the United States.

And I wonder why people did this kind of thing because the shooters won’t be gaining anything good from killing other people.

I think the U.S. should have better security for their people especially the children and the government can’t let people buy guns freely any more because this could happen again and again when guns are easily available.

It is sad because there had been lots of mass shootings in U.S. schools before.

I’m so sad and sorry to the victims and their families.

A natural gas pipe near Charleston, West Virginia had exploded in flames and caused huge fire that damaged roads, buildings and houses.

The massive flames shoot 50 to 75 feet into the air before the fire was extinguished.

The explosion occurred between Sissonville and Pocatalico in a 20-inch transmission line owned by NiSource Inc.

The incident happened at about 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

Associated Press reported that four homes went up in flames and collapsed in charred heaps after an inferno that was caused by the explosion raged for at least an hour, melting guardrails and pavement on a swath of Interstate 77.

Five other homes had extensive external damage.

Interstate 77  was badly damaged and was closed to traffic in both directions.

The blaze’s extreme heat appeared to have shifted a bridge on the interstate.

Several people who lives around the area were injured.

This is a disaster.
