Is ‘Kek Lapis Sarawak’ Already In The Market Halal?

JAKIM confirmed that Pure Creamery Butter-Golden Churn sold in Malaysia is non-halal because it contains pig DNA (please click here).

JAKIM now confirms that the Golden Churn Butter is non-halal.

The Star wrote that, ‘Golden Churn butter is a favoured ingredient in ‘Kek Lapis Sarawak‘ or Sarawak Layered-cake’.

Kek Lapis Sarawak are beautiful and tasty too and it is very hard to make them.

So, if a baker had already sold ‘Kek Lapis Sarawak’ that used Golden Churn butter to Muslims, what should he/she do?

What if a baker had already baked a lot of ‘Kek Lapis Sarawak’ that used Golden Churn butter and he/she now realised that the butter is not- halal; what should the baker do?

If we had already bought a ‘Kek Lapis Sarawak’, how do we know if they use Golden Churn butter or not?

During Eid, should we eat ‘Kek Lapis Sarawak’ at our friends’ or families’ houses?

And what about other cookies and cakes that may used Golden Churn butter?

I am happy that JAKIM works hard to make sure that Muslims know if thing is non-halal.

Now we should bake our own cakes and cookies 😉
