At 2.30pm Saturday, 21 May, 2011 a landslide hit Madrasah Al- Takwa in Hulu Langat, Selangor.

It was followed by another landslide at the same place.

It was not raining when the landslides happened, but wet weather in recent days is likely to be the caused.

About 25 people, mostly children and the orphanage staff was buried alive in the landslides.

16 people were reported killed while 9 others were injured; a few were badly injured.

They were among the 49 people who attended a motivation camp.

They were in the camp near the orphanage waiting for an event which was scheduled for 5:00 pm when the landslides occurred.

I am very sad and sorry for the victims and their families and friends.

This is a disaster.
