A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck at 3:40 pm PT ( 6:40 pm ET ) on Sunday about 110 miles east-southeast of Tijuana, Mexico.
Earthquake is a natural disaster.
In Mexicali roads were cracked and buildings were damaged.
The electricity were cut off in Mexicali.
Mexicali is the capital of Baja California state in Mexico.
2 people were killed and about 100 people injured in the quake.
One man was killed because a building collapsed on him.
Another man was killed because he was hit by a car as he ran to the street from his house.
People in Arizona and southern California felt the earthquake.
There are aftershocks after the earthquake.
I hope that the aftermath of this earthquake won’t be as bad as in the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti and the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile.
California is in the Pacific Ring Of Fire.
I think people in the Pacific Ring Of Fire should build buildings that are strong and won’t be damaged by earthquakes.
