Landslide in Southern Philipines

On Thursday January 1, 2012 at least 25 people were killed in a landslide in the southern Philippines.

The landslide struck at around 3:00 a.m. (2100 GMT Wednesday).

About 1oo people were still missing.

The landslide happened near a gold mine in Napnapan village in Pantukan township,  Mindanao.

It is very dangerous to work in that kind of gold mines because disaster may happen.

This is a latest disaster in Mindanao.

In December 2011,  flash floods triggered by a tropical storm killed more than 1,250 people in Mindanao.
